About Doxacard: Doxacard (Doxazosin) comes in the form of tablets with each one containing 1 milligram of Doxazosin which is the main active ingredient in the drug. This drug is used in treating hypertension and benign prostatic hyperplasia (an age-linked condition which involves enlargement of the prostate gland causing difficulty in urinating). Doxacard (Doxazosin) acts as an Alpha-blocker in the body. It relaxes blood vessels in order to reduce the blood pressure. For victims with benign prostatic hyperplasia, the drug relaxes the muscles around the prostate and the bladder exit, making it less painful and tiresome to urinate. The drug is sometimes prescribed together with other antihypertensive drugs to aid in relieving symptoms related to high blood pressure.
