About Suminat:

Suminat Nasal Spray (Sumatriptan Succinate) is a medicine used for the treatment of migraine headaches, and provide relief from other migraine symptoms such as nausea, sensitivity to noise, and sensitivity to light among others. Belonging to a group of medicines called triptans, this medicine works by affecting serotonin which causes the narrowing of blood vessels in the brain, as well as relieving certain nerve cells in the brain from pain. However, using Suminat Nasal Spray (Sumatriptan Succinate) will neither prevent the recurrence of migraines nor reduce the number of migraine attacks in patients.

How to use Suminat


This medication is taken orally with or without food as directed by your prescribing doctor. It is important to read the Patient information Leaflet before beginning your medication and consult your doctor should you have any concerns about your medication. In most instances, the dosage is based on the condition of your health as well as the severity of the condition being treated. If you do not notice any improvement, visit your doctor before changing your medication.

Suminat Dosage


As soon as you notice a migraine headache, visit the doctor for a medical examination to determine if this medication suits you. Depending on the condition of your health and the severity of the migraine, the doctor or physician will determine the right dose for you. In most cases, patients are instructed to take one dose of Suminat Nasal Spray (Sumatriptan Succinate) per day. In the case the condition persists after that, you may be told to increase the doses to two, with the second coming 2 hours after the first. Note that this medicine should never be used more than twice a day.

Suminat Side Effects


Using Suminat Nasal Spray (Sumatriptan Succinate) can result into side effects with the common ones being dizziness, having a prickling or tingling sensation on the skin, feeling cold or warm, muscle pain, flushing, nasal irritation, and unusual taste in the mouth.
